Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely not. You can actually keep clothes on completely. Fully clothed sessions focus on compression, which has plenty of therapeutic value. If you are comfortable taking clothing off, it does help me access more with my cream which allows for deeper massage and relaxation. Ultimately, it is all about your comfort level. When you are receiving a massage, I only undrape the body part actively being worked on to help you feel secure the entire treatment.
Yes and no. Everyone has a different pain level, so I'm always deliberate about checking in to see how you're feeling. Yes, you may experience some pain if you are getting a massage with deeper pressure, but I ensure the pain will never be a sharp pain. I maintain communication the entire session to keep any pain manageable, allowing you to breathe comfortably.
No. While getting a massage may help alleviate some pain and give relief, it is not a guaranteed solution. It can depend on the type of pain and the client's individual response to treatment. Massage should be used as a pain management plan, not a sole treatment for pain.
Yes, it is common for people to cry during a massage. This is a natural, healthy response known as an emotional release. When muscles relax, they often unlock stored emotional tension, trauma or stress held in the body. I want Sacred Balance to be a quiet safe environment where it's okay to let go of stored fear, sadness or anxiety.
Falling asleep is absolutely fine! I won't be offended. In fact, falling asleep is a compliment. It means you are deeply relaxed and that we've built enough trust for you to drift away mentally.
If you have an injury, I can usually work around it, and we can discuss in detail before your massage. Some people are ticklish, and that's okay. I can avoid tickling sensations by adjusting my pressure accordingly.
